There is a lot of diseases that can last for years, slowly devastating our body. Most likely, finally there will be a breakout and either a virus / bacterium kills us, or our own immune system will destroy the disease.

Such diseases have usually very random symptoms, light progress and a very bad feeling as main symptom. This feeling is a problem here - sometimes doc recognizes it as neurosis. It's so easy - put neurosis as a diagnose, receive money and voila, no more troubles from patient.

Symptoms may vary, depending on the kind of disease. In case of Lyme, it will be most likely pain of neck and joints. The same for chlamydiosis, but not that drastically. Viral infections usually result in very light fever and flu-like syndroms. Mycosis usually looks just like Lyme, but with additional digestion problems.

Generally, if something is wrong and we have no idea what is going on with symptoms like increased or decreased temperature, flu-like feeling, increased OB, icnreased one of white blood cells type in a peripheral blood smear, pains of random parts of the body - it's time to find a good doctor. Not that one who diagnose "anxiety" or "neurosis" in every case that is more complicated than common cold.

What we can do alone? For example, Lyme disease test - a western blot should work, not a PCR - it gives a lot of false positive and negative results. If your WB is positive in an IgM class - this's Lyme, if it's positive in IgG - it might be a false positive result. Chlamydia pneumoniae will give the positive IgG for nearly everyone, but high IgM should be checked. Sometimes (rarely tho) chlamydia pneumoniae can develop a chronic version. Chlamydia trachomatis is way more dangerous, never ignore the positive results of this disease. It's wise to check for chronic hesper zoster infection, especially if you got neuralgia. Mycoplasmosis and toxoplasmosis are kind common too.

Mycosis is a common problem of people who used a lot of antibiotics, but it might happen to everyone with weak immune system. It's extremely important to do NOT try cure the chronic diseases without an exact diagnose, using antibiotics, if mycosis is one of the possible causes. Such treatment may simply kill you. One with mycosis will usually suffer from many symptoms, especially the problems with digestion might occur. Body odour might be symptomatic, too, as well as dandruff, drunk-like feeling, joints and muscles pain. Very typical is a strong negative reaction when victim enters room with some kind of molds. "First aid" in case of mycosis is an elimination of sugar from diet, as well as every food with a high glycemic index. Next thing is increasing of the natural resistance, sometimes injections with vitamin B1 and, of course, vitamin B complex suplementation. Some fungi species are resistant against most popular medicines, so it's important to diagnose which one you've got. Sometimes it's unnecessary, increasing natural resistance will cure victim in a few days, maybe weeks.

Candida overgrowth is very common, yet it's not diagnosed as mycosis sensu stricto. Candida is not very dangerous, but might be a cause of some kind of a neural disorder, especially depression and neurosis. Symptoms are the same as for every other mycosis, treatment - nearly always plain increasing of resistance helps. Candida and other mycosis strike nearly always when patient got some problems with the skin - for example zinc deficiency. Anyway, the elimination of sugar and increasing the resistance is good for your health, even if it fails to cure the current disease.

To sum it up: If we have diagnosed neurosis, even if 10 doctors said so, yet we still suspect that it might be something different - make full blood test (it's cheap) together with OB, if we have much money - it might be wise to check every popular disease. Kinda paranoid, I know, but it might be life saver sometimes.
